The SVC is a professional regulatory body for veterinarians with four key functions:
Administer and maintain a registry of veterinarians and their Practising Certificates.
Conduct investigation and disciplinary proceedings relating to professional misconduct and negligence.
Accredit training programmes and set continuing professional education requirements for veterinarians.
Determine and regulate the standards of practice, competence, conduct and ethics.
