Who we are
Establishment of the Singapore Veterinary Council
The Singapore Veterinary Council (SVC) has been established as a professional regulatory body for veterinary professionals under the National Parks Board (NParks) to maintain and advance professional standards of the veterinary sector.
Singapore’s veterinary sector has grown in size, scope and complexity over the past few decades. This expansion reflects the growing demand for the diverse and critical roles that veterinarians play in society. The sector has also seen significant diversification in veterinary services and treatments, with a notable rise in veterinary specialists offering advanced, specialised procedures.
The SVC regulates the professional conduct and registration of veterinarians and sets standards and guidelines relating to the practice of veterinary medicine, in accordance with the Veterinary Practice Act 2026 (opens in new tab).
